University of San Agustin hosts I2CANProTech II

Iloilo City, Philippines – The University of San Agustin (USA) proudly played host to I2CANProTech II, the second installment of the Innovation, Intellectual Property, and Product Commercialization for Technology Professionals Conference, held on April 20–21, 2024, at the USA Auditorium.
The two-day event gathered innovators, researchers, IP experts, and technology entrepreneurs from across the Visayas and beyond, creating a vibrant space for collaboration and learning focused on transforming research into real-world impact.
Empowering Innovation and IP AwarenessWith the theme “From Research to Reality: Fueling Innovation Through IP and Commercialization,” the conference featured a dynamic lineup of keynote talks, panel discussions, and technology pitch sessions. Topics ranged from patenting strategies and tech transfer processes to startup incubation and sustainable commercialization models.
Keynote speakers included Engr. Carlo Mendoza, Director of the Technology Application and Promotion Institute (DOST-TAPI), and Atty. Reina Cortez, a leading IP lawyer and advocate for academic innovation.
Bridging Academia and IndustryUSA’s Office of Research and Global Relations spearheaded the event, aiming to strengthen the university’s role as a catalyst for research-driven development. The conference also featured tech showcases from USA faculty, students, and partner institutions.
