What Happened to the Humans?
Robert D. Buchanan
What happened to the humans,
Who once built towers to touch the sky?
Whose hands carved roads through mountains,
And taught the stars how to fly?
Where are the voices that once thundered,
With dreams and hope, now turned to dust?
The ink that spilled on pages,
Now fades in time’s relentless rust.
The children’s laughter, once a song,
Now lost beneath a silent sun,
Their stories told in whispers,
When the world they knew came undone.
What happened to the humans,
Who cried for justice in the dark?
Who danced in rain and loved the fire,
Now lost without a single spark?
The earth grows quiet in their absence,
No prayers rise up to break the night,
What became of all their wonders,
When humanity lost its fight?
What happened to the humans,
Who learned to love and learned to hate?
Did they vanish into shadows,
Or was it too late to change their fate?
